German Society for Quality Research

on Plant Foods (DGQ)

The DGQ is

  • a nonprofit society
  • linking both practical application and sciences
  • covering the whole area of research related to plant-based foods
  • supports international contacts

The field of work in quality research is very broad and mostly located between the classical scientific disciplines. Here the DGQ occupies the role of a mediator in order to bridge the existing gaps. This requires to initiate close and continuous contacts to many research areas.

It is the aim of the society to improve our knowledge on plant foods with regard to

  • their biochemical composition
  • their value for nutritional physiology

Every year a symposium is organized to discuss relevant problems in the above described topics of research. These symposia have partly scientific but also popular scientific character.

The members of the society belong to various areas of research and industry:

  • nutrition physiology, chemistry, plant science,
nutritional education, food and pharmaceutical industry,
    universities, consulting companies, research institutes,
    associations

New members should be interested in the aims and scope of the DGQ and they should also work in the field of quality research.

Download of application form here: pdf-file or doc-file

For private members the annual fee is only 40 EUR.
For companies, associations etc., the fee is related to the number of employees and is fixed in agreement with the DGQ committee.

You will get all issues of the scientific peer-reviewed "Journal of Applied Botany & Food Quality - Angewandte Botanik" free of charge. An issue contains most of the contributions (lectures and posters) presented at the annual DGQ symposium as detailed papers.
Furthermore, the society will provide you with further relevant information on demand.
